JUDITH ANN (WIEZBICKI) BROMLEY 1943 - 2018
CANTERBURY - Judith Ann (Wiezbicki) Bromley May 3, 1943 – October 28, 2018
She was a wife, mom, grandmother, aunt, friend and entrepreneur who will be missed and loved forever. When she was not cooking for customers or baking cakes at the Caddy Shack 2, she was spending time with family and friends.
Judy's journey began in a small New England town, Moosup, CT on May 3, 1943, the only daughter to Edward Wiezbicki and Helen Grace. She has two brothers Edward and Robert Wiezbicki. As time passed, she attended Plainfield high school where she participated in activities such as basketball, debate club, honor roll and numerous other activities. PHS was very special to her because that is where she met the love of her life of 56 years, Joseph Bromley, Sr. One of her fondest memories were the dances at the Plainfield Town Hall with her husband and all of her lifelong friends. During this period of time, she worked at their family business, Co Co's restaurant in Plainfield.
After their marriage, Judy gave birth to her daughter and best friend Jodene and a year later her first born son Joseph (Sam). While raising her family, Judy worked nonstop, whether it be fixing up our house or at the family business. Then the entrepreneurial spirit really kicked in, her and her husband purchased a pool hall in Plainfield. After years passed they continued their entrepreneurial spirit, which took them to the Old Spring Tavern in Norwich. Judy mustered up her spirit and made a nice home for her family and with her husband created a successful fun place for people to gather socialize and eat. Judy was always in the kitchen cooking up some special for the day. During this time, a third child was born, Jason, who later would follow in his mother and fathers entrepreneurial spirit.
Once again it was on the road again to Baltic, CT, where Judy and Joe and a partner created T.J.'s Lounge. While sponsoring softball leagues and providing a fun atmosphere they were noted for their fish and chips and seafood specialties. It was a family affair and both Judy and Joe met amazing people in their journey with many stories to tell along the way.
As her journey continues her and her husband landed in Jewett City to develop a catering business at the Jacque Cartier Club, where they catered for 28 years. The last leg of her life takes her to the Caddy Shack where she spent over 25 years cooking and serving the public. She was a hard working, humble, honest, wonderful person who will be missed immensely.
While doing all of this she managed to spend time with: her children, Jodene, Joseph, Rhonda and Jason Bromley, her brothers Edward, Robert and sister in law Kathy Wiezbicki, Aunt Rosalind and Edward Kivela, her grandchildren Samantha, Ivan, Jenna, Justin, Jacob, Destiney, Tristen and Joshua, her great grandchildren Kody, Paislee and Tristan, her nieces and nephews Tonya, Scott, Bryan, Sue, Robert, Jennifer, Valerie, Karen, John and Leslie as well as her many special friends and other family members.
Our best friend and mother, rest in peace. We love you.
There will be a mass at St. John's Church in Plainfield, CT at 10:00 am., followed by a celebration of life at Caddy Shack 2 in Norwich on Monday, November 5th, 2018.
