Kevin Reid May 1, 1938 - February 24, 2012 DANIELSON - Kevin Reid, age 73, of Danielson, died Friday at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, MA. He was born in Wellesley, MA on May 1, 1938, son of the late Edward and Eleanor (Foster) Reid. Mr. Reid served in the U.S. Air force Reserves. He owned and operated the Battery Shop of New England in Wallingford from 1973-1992. After his retirement he became the Tax Collector for the Borough of Danielson, a position he held since 1992. He served as a constable for the Town of Killingly, was a longtime member of the Danielson Lodge of Elks and a member of the Republican Town Committee. He is survived by his longtime partner Elaine Lippke; son, Kevin P. Reid and wife Leah of New Milford; daughter, Nancy Reid Carr and husband Michael of West Warwick, RI; brother Edward L. Reid and wife Dorothy of Austin, TX; sister, Joan Simpson of Kingston, NH; grandchildren, Daniel and Alaina Reid and Thea and Dylan Rose Carr. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 12:00 Noon in Tillinghast Funeral Home, 433 Main Street, Danielson. A calling hour will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to the service from 11:00- 12:00 Noon. Burial will be private.
