Marian Piechowski Obituary

Marian S. Piechowski September 9, 1928 - July 21, 2011 UNCASVILLE - Marian S. Piechowski, 82, of Uncasville, formerly of Norwich, died on Thursday, July 21, 2011. On September 9, 1928 she was born in Griswold, Connecticut the daughter of the late Joseph and Katherine (Zuguj) Stankiewicz. She was married to Sigmund Piechowski on August 8, 1953 at St. Mary Church in Jewett City. He died in May of 1964. Marian enjoyed listening to polka music and attended many polkabration festivals over the years. She loved to cook and enjoyed crocheting and knitting. She is survived by her daughter, Janice Heppner and husband Ron of Seven Hills, OH; son, Paul Piechowski and wife Jackie of Virginia Beach, VA; five grandchildren, Jennifer McLaughlin and husband Jim, Kristel Seurer and husband Dan, Lisa Gaippe and husband Jacob, Darrell Piechowski and Mark Heppner; four great-grandchildren, Alexi, Zachery, and James Gaippe and Addison Seurer; two sisters, Stella Krzemien and Anna Janik; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four brothers, Joseph, Anthony, Stephen and Walter Stankiewicz; and three sisters, Elizabeth Pipech, Mary Stankiewicz and Frances Lewis. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 A.M. at the Woyasz & Son Funeral Home, 141 Central Ave, Norwich. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Donations in her memory may be made to the CT Humane Society or the Norwich Fire Fighters Benevolent Fund.
