Mikee, will always be remembered and loved. he was more than a voice in Norwich and surrounding areas he was our friend. if he was out in public he always had time to say hello how goes the battle. he was my inspiration as a young teen to get into radio. he was kind considerate and a one of a kind humanbeing. and very sorely missed. BUCKLE UP MIKE I CARE ABOUT YOU. Light and Love on your new journey and to your family and friends left to remember you and carry on.

To Diane and family, People come in and out of our lives but there are some people whom you will always remember and Mike was one of those for me. Each time he came in here at GES to substitute he always had such a kind, caring way about him. Everyone loved him. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

The Cipriani Family -
I am so sorry to hear of Michael's passing. I first met Mike at WSUB many moons ago - and he was someone that was never to busy to show a "newbie" the ropes. I continued to listen to Michael - I woke up many mornings to his voice, and my mornings will not be the same. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this most difficult time.

To the Cipriani family...
I remember Mike being in my life for a very long time, listening to him on WCTY and also on 106.5. Also Tuesday nights when he was such a gracious host at our Hot Country Nights party at the Cinedrome at Foxwoods. He was a wonderful man and he always remembered me by my first name. I always consider him such a good friend. So many of us that danced will miss him so much. We were like family there. God Bless all of you.

To the entire Cipriani family -- my deepest sympathy to all of you. I listen to 106.5 in my office all the time and fondly remember listening to Michael Bernz -- I'll never forget the day I realized it was Michael Cipriani -- I always felt semi-related; my Uncle Al Toscano was Mike's father's cousin -- we all grew up together -- his voice on the radio was like silk -- thank goodness for the fond memories.

Dianne & Family,
We are shocked and deeply sorry for your loss. Michael will be missed by all of us in Matunuck. We all have pleasant memories of Michael at gatherings on your porch and in “The Alley”. He was a wonderful friend and neighbor and we will miss his melodious voice, quick wit and his beautiful smile. Rest in peace.

Thank you for your expressions of sympathy, kind words, and memories of my dear husband. He loved being on the radio and enjoyed being part of his listener's day. I always admired how gracious he was to his on air callers. His show was not only well prepared and entertaining, it was appropriate for ears of all ages. He was the best of the best! I have always been a fan of his and plan to remain that way forever. My heart is heavy with sadness. I will end with his familiar sign off," Whenever, where ever, however we meet again, I'm Michael Bernz, please buckle up and drive carefully, I care about you."
And that he did.
God Bless,
Diane and family

Diane and family,
This is the day the laughter died.
It will come back in the memories that we all have of Mike. I remember the good old day in 1968. He will always be remembered as the king of comedy in the NFA yearbook.
I will also remember his radio show, insurance salemanship and more recently his substitute teacher gig. All of which Mike had a talent and great success.
Love to all who remember,
In sympathy to family and friends,

Auntie Doy, Mehaha, Krupst:
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
--Revelation 21:4
We dont know what to say, or how to say it. We will miss Uncle Mike. His jokes, his laugh, his voice. I was remembering him at the swim club in the summers, and how Sophie took seriously Uncle Mike's joke about what you wore to your wedding. He left, although too soon, a beautiful legacy. You "Auntie Doy", who has the faith of a steadfast mountain, Mehera and Kristi -two of the most beautiful and unique individuals I know, and now baby Gil, who will no doubt have that Cip sense of humor too!. So many people found peace listening to him, found joy and time away from whatever harshness life had to offer. I don't understand God's plans. I just pray that he will wash over us all with perfect peace and comfort. With Grace and strength. Somehow, I think that Scott Muni has already escorted him to the Jocks section of Heaven. The jokes, stories of PDs and GMs, and contests of who can say the smoothest call letters has begun.
While we mourn on Earth, Uncle Mike rejoices with Jesus.
We love you,
Emily, Richard and Sophie

Diane and family,
Matunuck and Mary Carpeneter's Beach Meadow will not be the same without Mike. We loved hearing his voice on the radio talking about his friends at the cottages. Best we loved to see him growing his gorgeous flower pots on the porch. We will miss him.
Love,
Mike,Alice and family.

Michael literally helped me get a foot in the door at WSUB by driving me to work with him on weekends when I was 14. He was a saint.

Diane:
It is with surprise and sadness that I write this. It has been years since I have seen Mike or you. I'm going way back to the Corner Cupboard days when you would make me my tuna melts for lunch, and when Mike would come into Chelsea bank in the Norwichtown mall; always with a smile or a laugh. I have and will always remember Mike that way, smiling and laughing. Please use those good times you two had to get you through these tough days. My sincere condolences.

Diane and family,
Although we never met, I did work with Mike at SUB-FM back in the "Uncle Squid" days along with Rich Williams.
What sad news.
Bernzie was one of my mentors when I first entered broadcasting...I'm still at it 30+ years later.
Peace to you all....to say Mike will be very missed is an understatement.

To Diane and the entire Cipriani family: Please accept my deepest sympathy. I was shocked and saddened to hear of Michael's passing this morning, ironically, on the radio. I first met Mike at WSUB in the late seventies and then worked with him at Prudential in 1989-92. I regret that our life paths took us our separate ways, but I will cherish a lot of memories working and playing with Mike. I have never laughed so hard as on a golf course with Mike. He was one of a kind.
