Nancy Constant Obituary

NANCY LEE CONSTANT 1955 - 2016
N. Franklin - Nancy Lee Constant of North Franklin, passed away unexpectedly on April 15th, 2016 at the age of 60. She was born on June 7th, 1955 to June and Charles Brown and was raised in Lebanon Connecticut. On June 18th, 1982, Nancy married Ron, her best friend and the love of her life. On February 22nd, 1983 and November 7th, 1985 she welcomed her two beautiful children, Ben and Emily whom she would consider to be the most important part of her life.
After retiring from the State of Connecticut DEP in the summer of 2011, Nancy was able to spend her days fully embracing all of the things she knew and loved. She was dedicated to her yoga practice, was an amazing cook and gardener, and hiked daily with her dogs Mikki, Nalah, and Amos. Nancy had the greatest respect for her body and mind and encouraged others to do the same. Aside from spending time in her home, gardens, and her backyard trails, she made regular visits to Stratton, Vermont. This was a place that she held close to her heart, spending many summers in the cabin and on the trail with her friends and family. In addition to her hobbies, Nancy also worked for the town of Franklin for the registrar of voters as well as worked part time at LeFrancois Floral where she was able to embrace both her creativity and love of flowers. She was one to always stay busy, and truly made the most of her beautiful life.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Ronald Constant; her son Benjamin Elliot and his wife Emily; her daughter Emily Elizabeth and her fiancé Stephen Hancock; her sister Lynn Bodine of North Carolina and daughter Ashlyn; her brother Jeff Brown and his wife Gretchen of Lebanon; and her black lab Mikki. In addition to her immediate family she leaves behind her cousins, several nieces and nephews, and many close friends that she would consider family. She is predeceased by her mother, June Brown; her father, Charles Brown; her brother, Charley; and her beloved dog Lucy.
Nancy was a devoted friend, mother and wife. Her voice will forever echo words of advice and her contagious laugh and warm presence will be missed deeply by her friends, family and all who knew her.
Calling Hours will be held Wednesday April 20. 2016 from 5-8pm at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte195) Willimantic, CT.
