Richard Montague Feb. 28, 1942 - Nov. 6, 2014 NEW LONDON - Richard Montague, 72 of New London, passed peacefully Nov. 6, 2014 while surrounded by his loving family. He was born Feb. 28, 1942 in Norwich the son of the late Eldon and Irene (Scalaro) Montague. Richard was a hard working and honorable man. He opened his heart and home to any who were in need. He was a self-taught, self-made man of respect. He built his business "RAM Electrical" from the ground up and took pride in his work. He had a thirst for knowledge only surpassed by the passion with which he perused his hobbies. He is survived by his ex-wife, Theresa Rock. Daughters, Karen Montague and Lisa Ritson. Grandchildren, Sommer Montague, Amber Colon and Lynn Jarvis. Sisters, Adrian Smith, Barbara Isom, Carolyn Dziengiel and their husbands, Ernie Smith, Larry Isom and Charles Dziengel. Great grandchildren, Lanie Jarvis, Richard A Montaugue. Several nieces, nephews and many whom are family by love if not by blood. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his second wife Karen Montague. His family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 5 to 7 P.M. at the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave. New London. Family and friends are asked to gather for a graveside services on Wednesday at 11 A.M. in St. Joseph Cemetery, Norwich.

Rich is my brother and friend we grew up in Greenville a section of Norwich where everyone knew each other . I will always remember how he helped my mom and us kids by working at the bowling alley. He saved his first paycheck to buy my mom a dress that she had said she liked. He was my brother-father. I will miss him forever. RIP

I remember Rich from Judo back in the early 70's when we were all younger he was a great and caring teacher and a good friend from knowing him and what he brought into my life both of my boys grew up to be black belts in Karate and upstanding citizens who are medical professionals that give back to the medical community every day. I can still see his smiling face... Go with GOD my friend. You are missed.
