RYAN PATRICK CURRAN 1983 - 2016
Newport News, Va. - Ryan Patrick Curran, 32, Passed away unexpectedly on September 23, 2016. He was born in Putnam, Connecticut on October 1, 1983 to the late John A. Curran III and Lee Ann (Stilwell) Curran. He was a 2002 graduate of Plainfield High School and played offensive line for the Plainfield Panthers receiving honors his senior year. He attended Springfield College where he also played offensive line for the Pride and was a member of "The Roach". He graduated with a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. In 2012 he moved to Virginia to be with family. He's worked various odd jobs but in the last several years was a Tree Service Technician, most recently with Cut Knuckle, Inc. He enjoyed hunting, sports, and was an avid auto racing fan. He enjoyed his time with friends and the #47 Jordan Racing Team at his local track, The Waterford Speedbowl. He was a diehard Raiders, Yankees, Lakers, and Oklahoma Sooners football fan. He is survived by longtime girlfriend Pattie Kitchen of Newport News, VA, a brother Peter Caron of Virginia Beach, VA, sister April Curran of Augusta, GA, niece Taylor Curran and nephew Alec Caron, as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. Interment will be on October 15 at the Westfield Cemetery, Danielson, CT. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Wounded Warriors Project Inc www.woundedwarriorproject.org. Peninsula Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
