Ryan Romyns Obituary
STERLING - Ryan M. Romyns, 30, passed away unexpectedly August 31, 2018. He was born March 19, 1988 in New London a son of Richard and Ellen (Ely) Romyns and had been a lifelong Sterling resident. Ryan was a 2006 graduate of Plainfield High School and was currently employed as a Pipe Welder at Electric Boat in Quonset Point, RI. Besides his parents he leaves a brother and his girlfriend Michael Romyns and Paige Griffin of Danielson; his dedicated companion and best friend, his dog Gauge, his maternal grandparents Ralph and Mary Romyns of Fla., also several uncles and cousins. Funeral and burial are private. There will be a celebration of his life on Sept 15th. Notifications will be sent out as to the location and time.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to PO Box 136, Oneco, CT 06373 in care of Richard and Ellen Romyns. A donation to a Substance Abuse Nonprofit Organization will be made with all gifts received.

Dear Romyns Family, I am so sorry to hear about the loss of Ryan. My heart goes out to you. I know exactly how this feels after losing my stepson in 2008.Nick was 24 when he passed. Your life is forever changed. The way we view life itself is never like it used to be from this point forward. Do not let his loss tear your family apart. There is nothing you could have done different. There are no words you could have said the last time you saw him that could have changed the way that you feel right now..

Ellen - Rick - Mike and family, There are just no words to make the hurt go away. We are so sorry to hear of Ryan's passing. Our hearts go out to you in the loss of your son/brother. I am so sad that you have to know this "club" of parents outliving their children. Huge Hugs and Load of Love to all of you as you process this loss in the days ahead - take one day at a time. Ryan was a friend that was like family. He was funny, and caring and could make anyone's day brighter. His laugh was contagious and his friendship was one to cherish.
