I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Bohara's passing. If I am correct, this is the same gentleman who would umpire Norwich City League baseball games on summer evenings near Mohegan Park. I was the ball boy at many of these games, gathering foul balls and throwing them back to the umpire. Mr. Bohara was an incredible umpire who controlled the game very well and was very demanding as to my returning the foul balls back to him quickly and accurately. If I threw the ball back to him poorly, he would just give me a withering stare ! His strike calls were legendary. What a great guy and a truly professional umpire. My condolences to the family at his loss.

My condolences to Tom's family. I always wondered if Tom's umpiring career would outlast my "career" and sure enough, it did. I would like to share just a few memories of him...he demanded AND received respect from EVERY player on the field. He'd scold you for rubbing dirt on a new ball right after he just did. His eyesight was the same in his last game he called for me as the 1st game. My daughters absolutely loved his striiiike calls. Baseball lost a very dedicated man!

On behalf of the entire Jenkins and Debarros family we extend our condolences to your family. I always enjoyed our lively discussions on the ball field when he umped my games. Because of the respect I had for Bo we always left the field still friends. Rest in peace.

As a youth in Norwich my Grandfather would drive me to the ball field for my games. He would always make comment when he saw that Tom was umpiring the game. We often watched his routine for donning his umpire gear while standing next to his car. It was methodical as his approach to umpiring the game. There was never a doubt when he called a strike as it echoed the passion he harbored for the game! Thanks for the good memeories Tom. You will be missed. My condolences to friends and familt.

Tom,
Thank You for caring enough about my teenaged son back in the 80's. He has now retired from the U.S. Army. You were a Big part in his success. Your love for baseball and his, and you keeping him involved saved him.
You are a true HERO.

Mrs. Bohara and Sons, Tom was a man who brought life and smiles wherever he went. On a ballfield, delivering medicines, playing pool or collecting at Mass. You can be proud knowing that he was a legendary figure throughout this area wherever baseball was played. He left his trademaek "the circle strike" for all of us to remember him by, but those that really knew Tom will remember him as the man who tried to make people and the world better and happier. Eternal rest grant unto him---
Forget-me-never... remember-me-forever.

To Tom's Family: I was saddened to learn of his passing. I enjoyed speaking with him from time to time about sports. He always surprised me with his energy in planning and running the bus trips. I hope the good memories will remain and your feelings of loss will be short.

To the Bohara family,
After playing and umpiring in the area myself I had the pleasure of knowing who we affectionately called " the old man". I worked along side of Tom and also been "rode" by him on a few occasions. I had the pleasure of laughing with him and a week later we would be in each others face. But I always had the utmost respect for Tom as a person.I remember being tossed by him on a monday and see him in Stop n Shop on the following friday and we would walk past each other and in midstream we would stop and laugh like hell.No matter how mad you got at Bo on a monday, you still loved him on tuesday. My deepest and heart felt sympathy to the family and rest in peace old man.

To the family,
I was taught to empire by Tom over 15 years ago.I learned it's not about the balls and strikes but respect and acting like a pro. It's truly a sad day in baseball.

To Mrs. Bohara, Tom, Ted & Family,
My sincerest condolences in the passing of Mr. Bohara (I've always called him Mr. Bohara to this day). He is there in my fondest memories of all my years of playing baseball from little league to city league as a coach and an umpire. He was so good to us as kids and would always extend himself to teach us something about baseball and life. He commanded respect but he gave back so much more to us as kids and young men too.

A couple of my favorite memories are bus trips to NY and showing up to play a softball game and there he was to ump (although he didn't hesitate to call strikes on me- very professional.) As a kid I was so impressed that he had his own phone separate telephone line...to me this defined him as a busy man with important business. I will miss seeing him driving around in his TOMBOH car... I'll miss his persistent positivity... I'll miss a lot about Uncle Tom.
