Beulah Loostrom

Beulah Loostrom, 94, of Gothenburg, died Sept. 6, 2013, at the Gothenburg Memorial Hospital.
She was born Sept. 6, 1919, north of Gothenburg on the family farm, to William and Ella (McFate) Bedell.
She grew up north of Gothenburg attending New Hope School and Gothenburg High School, graduating in 1935. She spent her lifetime farming and ranching with her husband north of Gothenburg in Custer County and in Lincoln County between Brady and Maxwell. Beulah worked at the FSA office and then Gothenburg Feed Products for many years. She later was an owner of Loostrom Jewelry Store.
She married John Andrew Loostrom at North Platte on Feb. 26, 1939, to this union three children were born, David, Peggy and Mark.
She is survived by two sons, David (Linda) Loostrom, of Gothenburg, and Mark (Shawn) Loostrom, of Maxwell; her daughter, Peggy (John) Pape, of Grand Island; six grandchildren, Perry (Kristin) Loostrom, of Gothenburg, Wendy Jensen, of Grand Island, Merry (Mark) Danley, of Lincoln, Dr. Jeffrey (Stephanie) Pape, of Norfolk, Sherry (Ryan) Sanner, of San Diego, Calif., and John (Melodie) Loostrom, of Maxwell; 12 great grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, L. Johanna Bedell, of Gothenburg, Carol May Brown, of Lexington, and Rosemary Loostrom, of Plymouth, Mich.; her brother-in-law, Rod Carlson, of Cozad; along with a host of friends and extended family.
Beulah was preceded in death by her husband, John Andrew Loostrom, on April 3, 2013; her parents; four brothers; two sisters; and two great-grandchildren, Lane Michael and Bobbi Jo Loostrom.

Services will be at 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 10, at Gothenburg Cemetery, with Pastor Robert Litzenberger officiating. Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m., Monday, Sept. 9, with the family present from 5-7 p.m., at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, which is in charge of arrangements.
