Dorothy Jane Simants

1939 - 2023

Dorothy Jane Simants, 83, of Brady, passed away on Feb. 19, 2023, at her home. Dorothy was born on Nov. 18, 1939, in Lincoln, the daughter of Earl Edward and Margaret Jane (Beatty) Morgan. She attended Washington grade school and graduated from North Platte High School in 1958. She later graduated from the North Platte Beauty Academy. She became a licensed beautician in the state of Nebraska. On Aug. 16, 1966, she married Lawrence Raymond Simants and together they had three sons. Dorothy attended the First Presbyterian Church while living in North Platte. She enjoyed crocheting and sewing as well as raising chickens. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Larry; brothers, Robert and Edward Morgan; daughter-in-law, LaRee; and grandparents, Robert and Ethel Beatty. Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Steven Simants of Seward, Scott (Becky) Simants of Gothenburg and Larry Simants of Gothenburg; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
