What a wonderful friend and colleague. I so enjoyed working with Gene. His sense of humor and joy in life kept us going during long days of open enrollments and spring conferences. I will miss him and condolences to his family!

As a Rotarian, Gene always had a way of bringing enlightenment to any discussion. His thoughtful attention to different perspectives brought out great ideas which often led to sustainable solutions. His smile, quick wit, and compassion have created a legacy of hope. May he Rest in Peace.

Gene and my late husband, Larry Nelson, were first cousins. They were close all of their lives. They shared a great sense of humor and loved to tease each other. They also shared a great faith in God. I have many wonderful memories of our visits with Gene and Ardys over the years. Every time we went back to Nebraska (where we grew up) we always made it a point to see them. Gene and Ardys came out to California when Larry's dad died, and they sang at the memorial service. I feel a great sense of loss in Gene's passing, but also gratitude for having known such a wonderful relative and friend. I pray God's comfort and peace for all of his family.

To Debbie, Mark and Lisa and all of their Families and to my dear Aunt ArdysI was sad to hear that Uncle Gene died. He was always larger than life to me.

What a great laugh he had, and when he and my dad started telling stories about the past, that laugh roared through the house.

I know what a loss this is, and it is so wonderful you have each other so hang on tight to that, and please give your mom a kiss for me.
Love always,
Carol
