James Paul Baker II, fondly known as Jimmy, passed away January 24th 2025 at around 1:37 p.m. in North Platte, Nebraska, while he was asleep, at the age of 61. Born on November 2, 1963, in North Platte, Jimmy lived a life filled with love, hard work, and devotion to his family and faith.

Jimmy is survived by his mother, Wanda Bitterman-Hornbacher; his children, Alicia Marie Baker and Tyson Jaymes Baker; He also leaves behind his brother, Mike Hornbacher, as He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 24 years, Julie Ann Baker; his father, James Hornbacher;.

A hardworking single father, Jimmy was a jack of all trades with a talent for building just about anything. He found great joy in the outdoors, whether fishing at ponds, lakes, or on deep-sea adventures. He also loved scuba diving, water skiing, hunting, and camping. Jimmy and Julie shared many wonderful years together, dedicating themselves to helping others in countless ways and leaving behind a legacy of generosity and love.

An active member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Jimmy served in congregations in North Platte, and Ogallala, Nebraska; Florida; Southern California; and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. His faith and dedication to his church were pillars of his life.

A celebration of Jimmy's life will be held at the North Platte Seventh-Day Adventist Church on Thursday January 30th at 2 p.m. at 815 West Francis St. North Platte, NE 69101. If anyone wants to send flowers or cards you may send to the church.

Jimmy will be remembered as a man with a golden heart, a devoted father, and a loyal friend to many. His legacy of love, kindness, and faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
