Mario Contreras

In loving memory of our dear brother, Mario Contreras, we are saddened to announce his death on June 9, 2024, in Las Vegas, at the age of 67. Mario was born and raised in North Platte. After graduation, he worked for the Union Pacific Railroad as a carman. He later moved to Lincoln and then to Las Vegas as a self-employed laborer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Josephine Contreras; brother, Raymond "Tony" Contreras; son, Orlando Trujillo; and nephew, Cosmo Contreras Jr. Mario is survived by his sister, Cecelia Riley of Lexington, his brother, Cosmo Contreras Sr. and sister, Rachel Ruiz, both of North Platte; and numerous nephews, nieces, family relatives and friends. Mario will be greatly and truly missed by all who loved and knew him. Our beautiful brother was a kind-hearted person that loved his family dearly. We will miss his smile and his soft-spoken words of how much he adored God and the living words from the Bible. There will be a private service for the immediate family at a later date.
