Preston Curtis Obituary

Preston Michael Curtis, age 6, of North Platte died Friday, April 13, 2007, at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte.

Preston was born Dec. 29, 2000, in Omaha to Michael and Tracey Curtis. He lived in North Platte with his parents and later a sister, Analiese.

Preston enjoyed spending time with his extended family, including grandparents Noble and Cathy Flowers of Elkhorn and James and Connie Curtis of Scottsbluff. He was dearly loved by all.

Anyone who met Preston immediately saw his love and enthusiasm for life. He lived every minute to the fullest with boundless energy. His smile was contagious, his big brown eyes sparkling.

His family looks forward to seeing his bright smile again at the resurrection promised in the Bible. (Is. 25:8,9 and Acts 24:15).

A memorial service will be a 1 p.m. Saturday, April 21, 2007, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in North Platte.

Mike & Tracey -
Time stopped when we heard about the loss of Preston. Our hearts are very heavy. We wish we could be there right now to give you guys a huge hug.

You have Jehovah by your side to soften the pain we get from this world. He is such a loving and caring God. What a wonderful promise he gives us of a new world where we no longer will feel this type of pain. The day will come when you are complete family once again. It will be a time we will have tears of complete happiness.

Our thoughts, prayers, and tears are with you.

I wasn't able to get to know Preston as well as I wish I could have. I did know his parents though, very well, and I know that he was there pride and joy. Mike and Tracy were like a second set of parents to my brothers and I when they lived in omaha and I can only imagine what wonderful parents they were to preston and continue to be to Analiese. I do know that Preston was a chip off the old block. An energetic ball of fun just like both of his parents. I'm so glad that we share the hope of the resurection. We can't wait to see Preston be as the little boy spoken of at Isiah 11:6-8. We love you guys and pray that you are able to endure to the very near end.

I can't help but feel, somewhere deep inside, Preston was aware that his time on this earth was limited because everything that he did was so energetic.

At first he had to race our car as we left. He might stumble and fall, but without missing a step he would get back up and run. Later when he had a bike he once again had to race us to the corner.
He was the love of his father's life and was always with him.
He will be missed as long as this family lives on this earth or until he is welcomed back in a better body.

Preston was a great nephew. I'll never forget skiing with him for his first time on January 1, 2007. He never wanted to stop. He was so tired he could barely stand but wanted to know if we could go back up and try again. I'll forever be thankful for that cup of hot chocolate we talked over in the lodge. He had the best smile in the world. He loved my family so much, just as he loved anyone he met. We will have a void that cannot be filled until we welcome him back in God's promised new world! There is so much more that could be shared. Those of you who knew Preston know there are more stories than can be related!!
