Robert Dean Bringewatt, 74, of Hershey, Nebraska, passed away on March 21, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Bob was born on September 22, 1951, in Fairbury, Nebraska. He spent his early years in Alexandria before moving with his family to North Platte in 1954. He attended Buffalo Elementary, Madison Middle School, and graduated from North Platte High School in 1969.

Shortly after graduation, Bob was drafted into the United States Army, where he proudly served his country, including an 18-month tour in Vietnam. Following his honorable service, he returned to North Platte and began a lifelong career in trucking alongside his father, Merle, as part of Bringewatt and Sons Trucking. Bob continued trucking up until his passing and took great pride in his work and in the people he worked with.

Bob was a man who rarely sat still. He enjoyed staying busy, but his greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren. He loved teaching them life lessons through his favorite sayings, sharing jokes, and making memories. He also enjoyed trips to the casino with his wife, Kim, and was happiest when surrounded by family.

He is survived by his wife, Kimberly Bringewatt; daughter, Kris (Jeff) Steinbeck; son, Patrick (Shelby) Yarrington; and grandchildren, Tahlia and Kalan Steinbeck and Ezra Briggs. He is also survived by his siblings, Bill (Deb) Bringewatt, Dale (Lisa) Bringewatt, Sharon (Jeff) Hirtzel, Carol (Jerry) Sherman and Diane Bringewatt; and sister-in-law, Kay (Beto) Caro.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Merle and Rhoda Bringewatt (Mayfield); his sister, Linda Atkinson; and his in-laws, Elmer and Eileen Herrick.

Visitation will be held Monday, March 30, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with family present from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Odean Colonial Chapel, 302 S. Sycamore, North Platte, Nebraska. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at 10:30 AM at Odean Colonial Chapel in North Platte. Burial will follow at Floral Lawns Cemetery in North Platte.
