Ruth Edna Wilhelmson

Ruth Edna Wilhelmson, 97, of North Platte, passed away on May 16, 2023, at the North Platte Care Center. Ruth was born on March 24, 1926, to Milton and Edna Collins in North Platte. She married George Wilhelmson in Oberlin, Kansas, on March 31, 1945, using both George's and his uncle's tire rations to drive to and from Oberlin due to the ongoing war at the time. She was an active member of the Does, serving a term as the president. She also worked with the Shriners in their volunteer efforts. Ruth enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and most of all, dancing. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George; brothers-in-law, Eldred and Fred Wilhelmson, Robert Miller and Lynn Willard; sisters-in-law, Harriet Rohrbacker, Helen and Alberta Wilhelmson and Charlene Collins; and son-in-law, Milton Uphoff. Survivors include her daughters, Kay Uphoff of Lincoln and Roxanne (Bill) Kubes; sisters, Dorothy Willard and Irene Miller and brother, Lewis Collins, all of North Platte; grandchildren and families, Shane (Robin) Uphoff and daughter Molly; Blane (Jean) Uphoff and daughter, Emily and son, Jacob; Scott (Trish) Guenin and sons, Cody (Brittanee), Dakota (Bailey) and Zayden Guenin; Dayne Guenin and Cassie (Darin) Stearley and daughters, Jadelyn, Dawsyn, Dezlyn and son, Draxten; and four great-grandchildren, Amber, Hannah, Cameron and Colt Guenin.
