LOVELAND, Colo. - Shirley Jean Weber Gunn, 72, of Loveland, Colo., formerly of North Platte, died on Dec. 3, 2007, at her home.
She was born on Oct. 12, 1935, on the family farm outside of Ethan, S.D. She was the fourth of 12 children born to Michael Henry and Josephine Mary Schoenfelder Weber.
On June 27, 1959, she married John F. "Jack" Gunn in Mitchell, S.D.
Shirley lived in Loveland from 1986, moved to Trinidad, Colo., and returned to Loveland in 1997. She worked as a wife, mother and homemaker for most of her life. For eight years, Shirley owned and operated the Bronze Safari Tanning Salon in Loveland before retiring in 2005. She treasured the many friendships that she had developed during that time.
Shirley was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Loveland.
She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, crafts, and was especially proud of her spoon and enormous angel collections.
After retirement, she enjoyed traveling with her husband, Jack, in their motor home and spending winters in Mission, Texas. She especially loved spending time with her family and visiting with friends.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Jack of Loveland; son, Jack (Francie) Gunn of Loveland; daughters, Lt. Col. Pennie (Col. James) Pavlisin of Hill AFB, Utah, and Travis AFB, Calif., respectively, Cindy (Dave) Gerk of Greeley, Colo., and Tracie (Bob Roehrich) Gunn of Greeley; her sons, Darren (Brooke) Gunn, Darcey (Ann) Gunn, both of Loveland and Derrick (Jodie) Gunn of Pierce, Colo.; brothers, Sylvester (Patsy) Weber of Delta, Colo., Floyd (Pat) Weber of Loveland, Tom (Karen) Weber of Yankton, S.D., Michael Weber of Golden and Bernie (Kathy) Weber of Fort Collins, Colo.; sisters, Dorothy Thome of Mitchell, S.D., Arlene (Bob) Ellis of Reliance, S.D., Yvonne (Herman) Krumm of Farmer, S.D., and Theresa Weber of Mitchell; 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Don Weber; sisters, Anna Mae Hall and Mary Margaret Weber; grandson, Nick Roehrich; and granddaughter, Jill Norman.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Shirley J. Gunn Memorial Fund in care of Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Home in Loveland.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7, 2007, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Loveland.
A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today, Dec. 6, 2007, at Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. today.
Burial will take place at Loveland Burial Park.
