Wayne Allen Zona

1956 - 2022

Wayne Allen Zona, 65, of Sutherland, passed away Feb. 4, 2022, at Great Plains Health in North Platte. He was born on Nov. 11, 1956, to Herman and Pauline Zona in North Platte. Wayne graduated from North Platte High School. He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad as a communication engineer. Wayne was an entrepreneur, creating several technologies. He was an active trap shooter and assisted in starting a trap shoot in Sutherland with his father, Herman. He enjoyed being outside and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Pauline Zona. He is survived by his two children, Tyne Kreber of Sutherland and Jeremy Zona of Keystone; five grandchildren, Gavin Sierks, Bailey Zona, Cash Keber, Brecken Zona and Brooklyn Zona; great-grandchild, Dream Sierks; siblings, Deb Smith of Sutherland, Deanna Zona of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Charlie Zona of Little Rock, Arkansas; and several other family members and friends. Memorials are suggested to the family. Services will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 3, at the Sutherland Baptist Church with Pastor Javan Hansen officiating. The service will be livestreamed via the Adams & Swanson Facebook page for those unable to attend. Adams & Swanson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
