Betty Jones Obituary


Betty Jean Fadely Jones, 89, passed away August 14, 2025, at Timberview Crossing Assisted Living, Timberville, VA.

A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at 11:00am, at St James Lutheran Church, Hudson Cross Roads, where she was a lifetime member. Reverend Matthew Diehl will officiate. Burial will follow at Hudson Cross Roads cemetery. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the church.

Betty was born October 30, 1935, to the late Joseph C. Fadely and Mamie Lindamood Fadely. She was married to Carroll (Tuck) Jones, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by daughter, Linda Ritenour (Luke) of Mt Jackson; 5 grandchildren, Jennifer Ennis (John-Allen); Jeremy Cook (Promise), Matthew Tusing (Haley), Amanda Tusing (Jonathan), and Kathryn Frazier (Dillon); and 8 great-grandchildren, Annabelle, Jordan, Madyson, Charlotte, Sawyer, Sidney, Sutton, and Henley.

She was preceded in death by daughter, Carolyn Cook; son in law, Ernest Cook Jr.; 2 brothers, Ralph and Don Fadely; and 2 sisters Reva Bowman and Wanda Fadely.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St James Lutheran Church in her honor.

Arrangements are in the care of Heishman Funeral Home, Inc., Valley Funeral Service Branch, Edinburg.
