Charles Herald Obituary
Charles E. Herald Jr., 59, of Woodstock, passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at Harrisonburg Health and Rehab. A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, December 14th, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Valley Funeral Service in Edinburg, Virginia. Pastor Joe Fleming will officiate.
Mr. Herald was born January 16, 1962, in Woodstock, son of Charles E. Herald Sr. of Woodstock and Lena Mumaw Hollar of Toms Brook. Charles was a member of the Maurertown Brethren Church. He worked as a roofer for H&H Roofing and worked as a foreman for Nelson Patton for 38 years.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Brian Shoemaker.
He is survived by his wife, Denise Helsley Herald of Toms Brook; son, Charles Herald III of Front Royal; daughter, Jennifer Shillingburg of Woodstock; three brothers, Dwayne Herald (Mary) of Edinburg, Troy Herald of Harrisonburg, Tracy Shoemaker (Lisa) of Woodstock; and two grandchildren, Shawn and Freddie Shillingburg.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
