Elias Menchaca Obituary
A memorial service will be held on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Stover Memorial Chapel, Strasburg with Rev. Douglas Martin officiating. Military honors will be conducted by Shenandoah American Legion Post No. 77, Strasburg.
Mr. Menchaca was born March 12, 1931 in San Marcos, Texas, the son of the late Leo and Margarita Menchaca. He served in the United States Marines Corp and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a retired carpenter, a former member of the Shenandoah American Legion Post No. 77 and the V.F.W.
Surviving are his daughter, Margo Bergey Steadman and husband, Greg of Winchester; his grandson, Cannon Steadman; his companion, Sandy Bergey of Strasburg; three step-children, Franca Bergey of Maurertown, Romano Bergey of Fishers Hill and Barry Bergey of Florida; three brothers, Elisco Menchaca of Florida, Mardo Menchaca and wife Norma of Michigan and Eloy Menchaca and wife Rickie of Florida; his sister, Ofelia Nolan of Kentucky.
Memorials may be made to Shenandoah American Legion Post No. 77, 157 E. Washington Street, Strasburg, VA 22657.
