I so appreciated Eugenia challenging the school system and community about how to improve public education in the county. She was a remarkably accomplished person. The world and Shenandoah County are all the better because of her! I will miss her dearly.

I worked with Genie for 23 years at the AFT. I wish we had a 100 more like her. She was a one woman think tank who knew how to turn ideas into action. Her intellect, spirit and dedication to promoting labor, democracy and education at both the AFT and the Albert Shanker Institute has been a model for many others
