Frances Haun Obituary

Frances Elizabeth Haun, 91 of Toms Brook died Friday, October 01, 2010 at Consulate Health Care.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at the Dellinger Funeral Home, Woodstock, 11:00 am by Pastor Diana Horton and Rev. John Taylor and Rev. Jim Baseler. Burial will follow at the Bethel Lutheran Church Cemetery, Hamburg.

Mrs. Haun was born October 31, 1918 in Conicville, Virginia, daughter of the late Cover Benton and Ida Florence Litten Bowers. She was a 1937 graduate of Triplett High School and a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Toms Brook. She was formerly employed with The Virginian, Barrick's Custard Shop, Big Mac's Truckcenter, Woodstock Newstand, New York Restaurant, Shenandoah Restaurant, Narrow Passage Inn, Best Western, Hamilton Restaurant, Wayside Inn, Strasburg Hotel, Brook Inn, and Valley Diner, both of Toms Brook, and Massanutten Military Academy in Woodstock.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry H. Haun; three sons, Robert Franklin Haun, Richard Harry Haun, and James Allen Haun; a sister, May Beedle; three brothers, Frank, Perry, and Ray Bowers.

Frances is survived by a sister, Gladys Bowers Copperthite of Falls Church; a sister in law, Louise Cooley of Edinburg; children, William Benton Haun and wife, Betty of Leesburg, Nancy Proctor and husband, Gary of Edinburg, Patsy Haun Jenkins and husband, Larry of Martinsburg, W.Va., and John E. Haun and wife, Linda of Woodstock; Grandchildren, Patricia Haun Nair and husband, Arthur, Rickey Haun and companion, Laura Racey, Teresa Haun Souvagis, Greg Haun and companion, Jeannie Carter, David Miller and wife, Cheryl, Marsha Wetzel and companion, Robert Wine, Elaine Zembruski and husband, Paul, Jeremy Haun, and Wendi Teets and husband, Travis; Great grandchildren, Kathy Ann Haun and companion, Joe Leonard, Joanna Haun, Dana Haun, Cassandra Souvagis, Zachary Haun, Lindsey Haun, Kegan Steffer and husband, Anthony, Dava Miller, Amelia Miller, Nichole Dellinger and companion, Jeremy See, Liam Teets, Miles Teets, and Roy Frazier; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 pm at the Dellinger Funeral Home, Woodstock.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Toms Brook, Toms Brook Fire Department, or Bethel Lutheran Church.
