Gary McDonald Obituary

Gary Wayne McDonald, Sr., 61, of Romney, WV, passed away on Friday January 25, 2013, at Hampshire Memorial Hospital.

Born on July 21, 1951 in Woodstock, VA, he was the son of Myrtle (Smith) McDonald Smith of Middletown, VA and the late Charles Lee McDonald.

He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Ricketts Construction.

Surviving along with his mother, is a daughter, Lashasta Kyle of Romney; three sons, Gary McDonald, II of Springfield, WV, Mike McDonald of Romney, and Billy McDonald of Wardensville, WV; a brother, Gene McDonald of Strasburg, VA; and ten grandchildren, Charles, Tanner, Samantha McDonald, Nathaniel Ori Heavener, Corey, Shawna, Timothy, James Dennis McDonald, Triston and Austin Kyle.

Memorial services will be held on Monday evening at 7:30 p.m. at McKee Funeral Home Chapel, Augusta, with Rev. David Duckworth officiating.

The family will receive friends on Monday evening, January 28, 2013, from 6:00 p.m. until time of service at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

All arrangements are being handled by McKee Funeral Home, Augusta, WV.

I have many fond memories of growing up with Gary. We hunted 'n fished every spare second that was possible. He was the best shot with any type of gun. I've seen him make some shots that no one would believe. Can't believe he's gone.
