Gloria Patsy "GRAMMY" Waugh

1935 - 2023

Gloria Patsy Walton "GRAMMY" Waugh, 87, of Gastonia, NC, passed away January 25, 2023. She was born February 23, 1935, in Warren County, Virginia, a daughter of the late Earl Hampton Walton Sr. and Mildred Groves Walton. After spending her first 20 years in Virginia, she lived in Akron, Ohio, for over 20 years. In 1978 she moved to North Carolina, and now she is on to Heaven for Eternity.

Patsy was a woman of Faith and Prayer. She was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church and served on Prayer Ministry Team, in the Nursery, and was passionate about her Sunday School Class, among other things. She had long careers at both NRM Corp. in Akron, OH, and Freightliner Trucks in Mt Holly, NC. She enjoyed games, cards, and travel.

But, from the beginning of her life to the end of her life, her essence, her love, her heartbeat was family!

Survivors of Mrs. Waugh include her daughter, Cynthia Horneman (Terry) of Gastonia, NC; son, Darrell G. "Tony" Waugh (Catherine)) of Midlothian, VA; son-in-law, Donald "Wayne" Jarvis of Akron, OH; sister, Joyce Rutherford of Front Royal, VA; sister-in-law, Janis Waugh of Newnan, GA; grandchildren, Robert Horneman (Dyma), Patrick Horneman (Jennifer), Kellen Waugh (Brandi), Donald Jarvis, Travis Waugh, Dara Jean Templeton (Kevin); and great-grandchildren, Hannah, Keegan, Jarvis, and Boston Templeton, and Olivia and Emma Horneman; along with many nieces and nephews, and many, many very good friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Darrell Gene Waugh Sr.; daughter ,Sandra Ann Jarvis, and brother, Earl H. (Mickey) Walton Jr.

The family will receive friends from 12:30pm until 2pm at Woodlawn Baptist Church, in Lowell, NC, followed by funeral service at 2pm on Saturday, February 25, 2023, with Pastor Mitch Evans officiating.
