Harold Thompson Obituary
Harold Theodore Thompson Jr., 78, a resident of Strasburg, VA passed away Monday, May 8, 2023, at Winchester Medical Center.
A service of bereavement will be held privately with the family.
Mr. Thompson was born in Alexandria, VA on August 29, 1944, a son of the late Harold Theodore Thompson Sr., and the late Genevieve Jordan Thompson. Harold was a U.S. Army veteran having served in Vietnam as a SPC5. He worked for the International Automotive Components in Strasburg, VA as a forklift operator. Harold was a former member of the Strasburg Fire Department, life member the Strasburg Vol. Rescue Squad and was a life member of the V.F.W.
Survivors include his siblings Phillip W. Thompson and wife Lorraine and Barbara Thompson Alsberry and husband Johnny R. all of Richmond, VA; his nieces and nephews Mishawn Wilson of Richmond, VA, Reis Alsberry of Tallahassee, FL, Phillip W. Thompson II of Denver, CO and Sydney Wilson of Richmond, VA.
The family asks that expressions of sympathy be made to a charity of one's choice.

Worked out with Turk at the gym many years ago. He was a great guy. Enjoyed many talks with him. Rest easy my friend.

I am so saddened to hear this news. Turk worked out at our gym for many years back in the day in Woodstock. All of us from THE GYM send our deepest heartfelt condolences to Turk's family. We loved him like family and enjoyed so much his stories and antics. Fly high our beautiful brother and soar with the angels. You will be missed by many.

Turk was always such a kind guy and hard worker. Curtis and I worked with him at Automotive and Curtis played ball with him. So sorry to hear and praying for his family. Thank you for your dedication to the volunteer service to help others in need. RIP

Turk was a patient of mine many years ago when I worked at Cedar Ridge Family Physicians. A dear sweet man who towered over my barely 5 ft height and we´d joke about it. Always pleasant. Until we meet again, "Fair Winds and Following Seas."
