Ina Gochenour Obituary
Ina Fay Gochenour, 87, of New Market passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at Life Care Center of New Market. She was born June 22, 1937, in New Market, VA, to the late Otis and Myrtie Fleming Rimel. Ina married James Daniel Gochenour April 3, 1954, who preceded her in death in 1999. She has also been preceded by her son Alan Gochenour and her 5 siblings. She is survived by her daughters Judith Kopp (Timothy), and Melody Constable (Jon). Grandchildren, Dana Constable (Chase), Meagan Lantz (Brandon), and Jenna Constable. Great-grandchildren Jon, Jake, and Daylon.
She was a devoted Mother, Grandmother, and Great-grandmother. She was a member of Manor Memorial United Methodist Church in New Market and enjoyed singing in the choir for many years. She lived a life full of love and laughter, and often showed that love through cooking and baking. She was well known for her delicious rum cakes.
Her love was extended to her caregivers, who she considered as family, over her 11 years as a resident at Life Care Center. The bonds she made were strong and she was lovingly referred to as Momma and Grandma by many staff members. We also want to give a special thank you to Blue Ridge Hospice who provided care and support for nearly 3 years.
The family will receive family and friends at Dellinger Funeral Homes, Mt. Jackson on Friday, January 31, 2025, from 6-8 P.M. Burial will be private.
