Jack P. Perine
Jack Peverill Perine, 87, of Winchester died Monday at his home.
The funeral will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Pauls on the Hill Episcopal Church by the Rev. Fritz Trumbore. Burial will be in Mt. Hebron Cemetery.
Mr. Perine was born May 1, 1921, in Washington, D.C., son of Wilbur Boyd Perine Sr. and Josephine Sullivan Peverill Perine. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a mechanical engineer for the Navy in Washington, D.C. He was a member of St. Pauls on the Hill Episcopal Church, Plane Crazy Radio Control Club in Winchester, National Rifle Association, Washington Blue Rifles, Soaring Society of America and co-founder of Mid Atlantic Soaring Association.
Surviving are his wife, Frances Anne Sowders Perine; three sons, John C. "Jack" Perine of Berryville, Scott Douglas Perine of Knoxville, Tenn., and Thomas Lee Perine of Sacramento, Calif.; a daughter, Judith Frances Taylor of Berryville; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be John C. "Jack" Perine, Joshua Taylor, Daniel Taylor, Jacob Taylor, Samuel Taylor and Noah Taylor.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Home in Winchester.
Memorial contributions may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 W. Cork St., Winchester 22601.
