James Copenhaver Obituary
James William Copenhaver Sr., 71 of Woodstock, passed away peacefully at his home on April 26, 2024.
Jimmy was born on February 19, 1953 in Edinburg, VA. He was the son of the late George William and Betty Jean Copenhaver.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Freddy Copenhaver & Robert M. Copenhaver and a sister, Dorothy Copenhaver.
He is survived by the love of his life, Lori Coe; children James W. Copenhaver Jr. (Crystal) of Edinburg, Lynn Ann Copenhaver (Curtis) of Harrisonburg; "step-children", Christopher Crawford (Abby) of Woodstock, Chell Utz (Damion) of Woodstock and Jenni Forbes of Mt. Jackson; two sisteres, Kim Wienburg of Arlington and Loretta Kennedy (Jim) of New Market; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; special friends, Danny Sheets and Cindy Staton Lavendar.
He was owner of James Home Improvement for over 20 years. He enjoyed life to the fullest and was always the life of the party. He touched so many lives both adults and children. He will be missed greatly by all who had the privilege to meet him.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 232 North Main Street, Woodstock, VA 22664.
A celebration of life will be at a later date.

Jimmy was our good friend, and a most skillful builder. He turned our river front home into a comfortable, attractive, enjoyable place for us to retire. We were always grateful for his projects he took on for us, his thoroughness, helpfulness, and most of all for the good friendship we got share with him. In addition, he also took on other building projects for our family members. Thanks to him we each acquired places to live, places for recreational space that will be enjoyed for many years yet to come. We will miss our good friend greatly and we are grateful to have known him. May he rest in eternal peace.
