James Ringer Obituary
Jim Ringer died peacefully at home surrounded by his family August 25, 2018 in Middletown, VA at the age of 79.
Jim was born January 2, 1939 in Albright, WV to Robert Ray Ringer and Luella Richard Ringer. He graduated from Kingwood High School in 1957.
He was a veteran of the United States Army stationed in Ft. Hood, TX.
He worked at Avtex Fibers, Christendom College, Powhattan School and Skyline Cap Headstart until he retired in 2006. He was a member of Valley Assembly of God, where he served as treasurer and board member.
Jim is survived by his wife of 58 years, Doris Emogene Johnson Ringer; his daughter, Gina Franklin, her husband Rusty and his son J.D. Ringer; granddaughters, Emmalee (Wayne) and Sara; great grandchildren, Kennedey, Titus, Elizabeth and Peyton; his brother, John Bridgan of Maine; his sister, Bonnie Hadel of Maryland; his sisters-in-law, Dottie Holden and Juanita Senter; brother-in-law, Tim Senter; nephews, Howard Hadel, John Bridgan, and Timothy Senter; and his niece, Pam Hadel.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Nancy McElroy of Albright WV; his in-laws, the Rev. Irving and Emma Johnson of Front Royal VA; and his brother-in-law, the Rev. Gerald Holden of Front Royal VA.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday September 1, 2018 at Valley Assembly of God, 2376 4th St., Middletown VA 22645. The Rev. William Wood and the Rev. Dottie Holden will be officiating. The family will receive friends after the service at the fellowship hall.
