I knew John and Harry! They were both dear friends when I was in training in Charlottesville in the late 60s. Our friendship was based on riding; cubbing and hunting. I did this every other day for several years and I would drink and eat at the house off Garth Road every other night. We spent long days going to antique auctions, horse sales and shows. John was energetic, enthusiastic, supportive, kind, and quick with sarcasm but never malicious. I wish John was still in my life.

John's grandfather, Carson Biller, and my mother, Hannah Biller, were brother and sister. We grew up back in the Shanendoah Valley many, many years ago. I have lived in Ohio since I was a small child, but many of my fondest memories come from the Valley and my childhood.

What a great picture of John! That was him always smiling and enjoying life. We trained racehorses for him years ago and we had a few in partnership with him . We always enjoyed our time with John. Sorry to hear of his passing but know he enjoyed life to the fullest.

I taught for John at Hollymead when it was built. He was the best principal I worked with during my many years of teaching. His spirit and guidance will continue to be a blessing for all who have known him.

Dr. Biller was an incredibly understanding and supportive guide and mentor to me during my second year of teaching -- Unit B, Hollymead Elementary. I had so very much to learn, and he helped keep me focused and steady. I owe him much. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.

In 1959-60, John Biller was my 7th grade teacher at Broadus Wood. This was early in his career and he was pretty strict. He didn't allow the girls to wear even pink lipstick and told us things like Girl Scouts was a waste of our time.
Later in the 70's as Dr. Biller, he was my children's Hollymead principal. He had changed somewhat. He was a lot more laid back and encouraged students to be more well rounded. What never changed throughout the years was his integrity, his fairness and his concern for his students' total well being. He will be missed.
Thanks Dr. Biller (even though you always called me "Marjorie").

I have so many great memories of Dr. Biller from when I was a child living on Reynard Woods Rd. I will always remember him with great fondness. He let me look at his horse magazines while he and my dad talked, and he came over and checked through our whole house once when I thought we had an intruder and I was alone at home. I will never forget him.
