Jesse Biller Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Evans Funeral Home - Columbus on Jan. 15, 2026.
Jesse Carl Biller, 75, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2026, surrounded by family. He was born July 7th, 1950, in Columbus, Ohio to the late Jesse R & Bonnie (Michael) Biller, he was preceded in death by six brothers and five sisters. A veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Jess carried the values of service, courage, and dependability with him throughout his life. He owned his own construction and remodeling business, where his skill and work ethic were evident in everything he built. He had a meaningful career with American Electric Power, retiring after 30 years as a substation operator, where he was respected and valued not only for his knowledge, but for his integrity and reliability.
To those that knew him best, Jess was witty and playful, with a sharp sense of humor that was often an expression of affection and trust. He possessed an insatiable curiosity, an inherent, unceasing desire to know the who, what, where, when, why, and how of the world. He did not passively consume information; he thought deeply, analyzed carefully, and asked questions that often led to lengthy conversations, even when his children were hoping for a short answer.
He was a protector and a problem solver, guided by a strong intuition for the people he loved. He made himself and his knowledge available whenever it was needed. Helpful, dependable, courageous, and resourceful, he was someone others could count on without hesitation. He showed up. Always.
Jess had a deep love for dogs and reading and surrounded himself with both. He enjoyed building fast cars, woodworking, HAM radios, and taking things apart simply to understand how they worked. These passions reflected who he was at his core to his family, a builder, a thinker, and someone driven by understanding and purpose.
Above all else, he was devoted to his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Susan, his children Jesse (Nancy), Angela (Phil), Jennifer (Nate), Charity (Greg), Hope, John (Mary); twenty grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and 1 brother
Gordon (Rosalee) Biller.
Those who loved him will remember a man who was steady, present, and loyal, a man who showed his love through action, wisdom, and unwavering support. His legacy lives on in the family he protected, the problems he solved, and the countless times he made life easier simply by being there.
