Although I didn't know him as well as some of my other classmates from CHS since I joined the party late, I knew him well enough to know he lived every day to it's fullest. May he rest in peace.

Mitch along with Gary and Larry G. and I shared some great laughs at CHS. He was a tremendous guy with a fantastic zest for life. Though I had lost touch with Mitch his beaming personality will always spark a smile in my life. RIP my friend and my prayers are with your family.

“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!”
? Hunter S. Thompson

Thanks for taking me along on your ride. RIP, my brother.

I've been on memory lane a lot for the past month or so... Mitch was my 1st cousin. I'm an only child, he the oldest of his siblings, he was 1 year younger and less a mile away. We spent a whole lot of time together playing and growing up in the 60's and 70's. The memories that only he and I share: Match Box & Hot Wheels cars; cowboys & indians; solders; forts & tree houses; Uncle Leahman & Aunt Kathrine; the Home Place Farm; driving the tractor; the woods; wash tubs; bicycles; fire crackers; HO race cars; Chiller; Monte Python; SNL; Jr's chopper; old Chevy pickups; Vickie & Freddie; Helsley's Store; the pond; the little wolf hole; cars; girls; my room in the basement; our wedding. Mitch could tell a joke or story and make you laugh (I never could). Like so many things from the past that are nothing but fond memories because they're gone, I never thought Mitch would be on that list.

Anne, Rachel, Michael you were Mitch's world! His pride and joy! The best thing to ever be part of his life! Keep those memories!

Praying for strength and comfort...

I remember Mitch growing up - our families attended the same church. We hung out together in high school and some during college years until our lives took us in different directions. I remember Mitch being a great guy with a positive outlook, kind and fun to be around. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Mitch was my cousin. I have many fond memories of him. One that not many probably know of was when I graduated from college Mitch send me as a graduation gift a business suit jacket, pants, tie, tie tack, as well as 2 books. One was "dress Smart men- wardrobes that win in the new workplace" as well as Dale Carnegie's "how to win friends and influence people." It just so happens to be on my nightstand next to my bed right now as it has been a book that I have read and re-read many times! Mitch also wrote a very kind letter explaining how to make the gifts he had given to me work to my benefit in the workforce. I don't know that my thank you letter back to him for such an incredible gift ever did justice for what he gave me. But that suit jacket is still in my possession (after some alterations) and although the pants definatly don't fit any longer, I still think of the kind hearted person that was Mitch. Those books, that suit, his words have changed my life for the better. I will really miss him until we meet again!

I will always remember Mitch as the first boy who ever gave me a gift! A wooden Popsicle "log" cabin...it was beautiful. I think we were five. Or six. Though the years may have separated us, his joie de vivre was a life-force for the Millenium. While he may no longer be with us in body, his spirit remains in all of our hearts. And, for that, I am grateful to have known him and will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.

The way Mitch thought, and the things he did, have stayed with me my entire life. Despite he being the older brother of my friend, Marty. But he impacted my life in large and good way.
