Norma Grimsley Obituary

Norma Virginia Grimsley, age 58, of Front Royal, passed peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on August 17, 2009.

A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, August 21, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Turner-Robertshaw Funeral Home with Dr. Samuel Blakely officiating. Burial will follow in Flint Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Grimsley was born on June 4, 1951 in Loudoun County a daughter of Elsie Virginia Lickey Davis of Purcellville and the late R. N. Davis, Sr. She was a homemaker whose favorite holiday was Christmas. She enjoyed flower gardening and exercising and was a member of the Church of the Nazarene. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She had a special place in her heart for all eight of her grandchildren. She also was a babysitter for the past 24 years having looked after countless children in her home.

In addition to her mother, Mrs. Grimsley is survived by her husband, Ashby Grimsley; her sons, Clinton Hindman, Jr. and wife Brenda and Michael Grimsley and wife Carrie all of Front Royal; her daughters, Billie Jean Smith and husband Walt of Ormond Beach, FL, Ashley McKinney and husband Travis of Ashburn, Bonnie O'Donnell and husband Chris of Dayton, OH, and Missy Brick and husband Bill of Fredericksburg; her brothers, R.N. Davis, Jr. and wife Bonnie, William E. Davis and Robert A. Davis all of Purcellville and Gerald A. Davis and wife Peggy of Round Hill; her sister Jean Welch and husband Robert of Leesburg; and eight grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 20, 2009 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family requests that memorial donations be made in her name to the 1st Church of the Nazarene, 1107 Monroe Drive, Front Royal, VA 22630.
