Patricia Harris Obituary
Mrs. Harris was born January 1, 1937 in Norwich, CT to the late Stella and Bronislaw Tercyak. She attended local schools in Norwich and received her R.N. license, from the Lawrence and Memorial School of Nursing in New London, CT in 1957. She retired from the state of Connecticut in June 1995.
After returning from a two year stay in West Berlin Germany with her husband and son in 1974, Mrs. Harris moved to Sterling, Virginia later that year, working at Loudoun Hospital in Leesburg, until her move back to Norwich in 1983. After the death of both her father (2001) and her mother (2006) and her husband Raymond (1987), she returned to Virginia in May 2008 (where her son still lives) and settled in Fort Valley, Virginia. In 2024, Mrs. Harris moved to Westminster at Lake Ridge in Lake Ridge, VA.
Mrs. Harris is survived by her son Rev. Charles W. Merkle III of Woodbridge, Virginia, a brother Ronald Tercyak (Linda) of Lakewood Ranch, Florida, and a niece Carol Lynn Barrentine (Wade) and family of Smyrna, Georgia.
The family will receive visitors Monday, December 1st, 2025 at Miller Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc.; 3200 Golansky Blvd, Woodbridge, VA 22192 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM. The family will also receive friends on Tuesday, December 2nd at Heishman Funeral Home; 159 N Main St. Woodstock, VA from 2-5PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John Bosco Catholic Church; 315 N Main St. Woodstock, VA 22664, on Wednesday, December 3rd at 11:00AM. Interment will be held on Friday, December 5th at St. Mary's and St. Joseph's Cemetery in Norwich, Connecticut at Noon.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. John Bosco Building Fund and mailed to St. John Bosco Catholic Church.
