Our town has lost a truly gifted and talented lady! Her artwork on buildings was so beautiful and unique (the State of Liberty and also the Street Scene on the side of the building on High Street. Such a loss when the beautiful and unusual artwork was painted over!

To Howard and the family. I am sorry for your loss. Pat was a very good friend. It was an honor to have known her. I was honored to sell her beautiful paintings in my shop(Grandma Hazel's Attic). I have one of her paintings in my living room. I was able to buy one for my sister and my daughter. She was well known throughout my family, and greatly admired. She will be missed by many.

She was a force of nature, and truly one of the most interesting people I have ever known. Her spirit will endure, as she touched so many lives. I hope those memories sustain her loved ones in the days ahead.

I never knew until today that Pat's real name was Aria Hope Sunbeam. That says it all: She sang when she spoke, exhibited hope and strength through her illness, and was always pure light. Our sons got to meet her a few summers ago and were instantly drawn into her lively personality. Pat, you shared love and joy through your life and art. I am grateful our paths crossed and feel your presence through the beautiful painting of the St. James Railroad Station.

I remember meeting Ms. Windrow when she first opened her art gallery in Front Royal, and her showing me the renovations she had done with the apartments upstairs. What a talent she was! What it would be to be able to see and put to canvas what she saw, the detail was amazing. Maybe we can look forward to some beautifully painted sunsets from heaven.

I'm so sorry to hear of Pat's passing. Over the years she and I had many lovely conversations. One of my cherished treasures is a handmade Christmas card from her. My condolences to all of you.
