Patsy Hassert Obituary


Patsy Walthall Hassert, 88, of Strasburg, VA, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2024, at her home in Strasburg.

Mrs. Hassert was born in Richmond, VA, on July 4, 1936, a daughter of the late Rev. David Barclay Walthall Jr. and the late Lois Emelyn Claytor Walthall. She worked as a medical social work administrator prior to her retirement. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother David Barclay Walthall III; nephew Eric Walthall; nieces Amy Cast and Lois Walthall Murdaugh.

Survivors include her loving husband Robert George Hassert of Strasburg; sister-in-law Vivian Ann Walthall; niece Cecelia Walthall; and nephew David Barclay Walthall IV (June).

A graveside service for Mrs. Hassert will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at Riverview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home and Crematory on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. prior to going in procession to the cemetery for the service.

Memorials may be made to the Bach Choir of Bethlehem, 440 Heckewelder Place, Bethlehem, PA 18018 (bach.org) or a charity of choice.
