Ora Junella Hassert

With humble acceptance of God's will, we announce the passing of our precious mother Ora Junella Hassert.
Mom was a woman of deep faith. She taught us the centrality of Christ in one's life. She taught us of our Savior's love and sacrifice and showed us what it looks like to be a Christian. She lived by his faith.
Ora Junella Hassert, 89 years young lived in Sebastian, Florida. She was born in Page County, Virginia on March 23, 1935. The daughter of Clara Anderson Painter and Kirby Lee Painter.
She graduated from Wilmington High School. Ora was a devoted member of Sebastian Christian Church.
Ora found the love of painting and became an amazing artist, painting beautiful flowers and landscapes in oil paintings and watercolors. She also loved doing puzzles and flower arrangements. She also was a barber.
After marrying the love of her life James Hassert, they spent many occasions traveling to many exciting places and adventures.
Ora Junella is preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Hassert and her youngest son Vincent Whaley.
Survivors include her oldest son, Earl Whaley and his wife, Susan and middle son, John Whaley and his wife, Drema. Granddaughter, Elana Chen and her husband Henry; and great-grandsons, Greyson and Christian.
Ora Junella also had the great privilege of being a stepmother to her beloved husband's children: daughter, Anne, Ellen and Mary and son Jamie including all their spouses and children.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 26th at 10:00am at Strunk Funeral Home, 1623 N. Central Avenue, Sebastian, Florida followed by a Graveside Service at 11:00 am at Sebastian Cemetery, 1921 N. Central Avenue, Sebastian, Florida.
