Robert McHale Obituary


Robert Miles McHale, 91, of Woodstock passed away at his home on Friday, January 6, 2023. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at St. John Bosco Roman Catholic Church in Woodstock. Robert's grandson, Father Patrick Mullan, will officiate and Father Augustine Tran will concelebrate. The family will receive visitors from 6:00-8:00 pm on Friday, January 13, 2023, at Dellinger Funeral Homes in Woodstock, with a Rosary beginning at 7:30 pm.

Robert was born on February 16, 1931, in Hazleton, PA and was the son of the late Austin and Mary (Conahan) McHale. He served in the US Army and was a federal employee for 37 years in various positions within the Department of Defense. He was a member of the American Legion, Moose International, Knights of Columbus, and The Third Order Dominicans. Robert was a lifelong and faithful servant in the Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Valeria (Skluzacek) McHale; 2 sons, Robert (Carol) McHale, Brookeville, MD, and Matthew (Jennifer) McHale, Haymarket, VA; 2 daughters, Gretchen McHale, Woodstock, VA, and Marilyn Mullan, Rockville, MD; 17 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and two beloved sisters, Mary Mulligan, and Catherine Bommer. He was preceded in death by a brother, Austin P. McHale, and a sister, Sister Helen Louise McHale, R.S.M.

Arrangements are in the care of Dellinger Funeral Homes, Woodstock.
