Roger Ray Obituary

Roger Leon Ray, 71, of New Market, VA, passed away on Sunday morning, November 23, 2025, at his home following a lengthy illness.

He was born on December 28, 1953, in Harvey, Illinois, and was the son of the late Elizabeth Kyle Ray and Henry Ray.

Mr. Ray retired from Johns Manville after 30 years of service.

He is survived by his wife, Diane Raynes Ray; a daughter, Lottie Tassone of Martinsburg, WV; a stepdaughter, Jennifer Cleveland (David) of Yorktown, VA; a stepson, Howard Mullins (Sarah) of Holly Springs, NC; a brother, Dale Ray of Shelbyville, TN; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Brian and Danny Ray; a brother, Larry Ray; and a sister, Sherry Randalls.

Mr. Ray's request was to be cremated, with no services. Friends may call at the home.

Mrs. Ray would like to thank relatives and friends for their concern and special thanks to Sentara Hospice for their care.
