Ruby Rinker Obituary
Ruby "Bea" Irene Hamilton Rinker, 97 of New Market passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, in New Market. Services will be on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at Dellinger Funeral, Mt. Jackson. The family will receive friends and family 1 hour prior.
Ruby was born on January 19, 1927, in Acme, Pennsylvania and was the daughter of the late Perry and Effie Moomaw Hamilton. She was a member of the Stony Creek Church of the Brethren. She retired from HD Lee after 19 years. After she retired, she enjoyed bus tours all over the country. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Edgar Rinker; 3 sisters, Frances Will, Louise Moomaw, and Estella Taylor.
She is survived by, 2 sons, Troy Rinker and his wife Linda of Jacksonville, Arkansas, and David Rinker of New Market; a daughter, Sonia West and her husband William, Jr. of Annandale, Virginia; 3 grandchildren, William West III, David West, and Troy Rinker Jr.; and 2 great-grandchildren, Troy Rinker III, and Ava West.
She loved to garden and was a member of the Cohee Garden Club. She had a tremendous memory and was the family genealogist. She also loved cats and birds.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
Arrangements are in the care of Dellinger Funeral Homes, Mt. Jackson.

The times I went to the Hamilton Reunion,I always loved too stop and talk to the Hamilton "girls".I am sure mother was so glad to see them.Praying for peace and comfort for all the family.

Ruby will be missed. I will miss her story telling. She was a lady that told it like it was and had her own opinions and don't get her started on politics. I'm just sorry we lived so far apart with her in Virginia and me in Florida because I would have liked to had been able to spend more time with her. Our families are intertwined by marriage. My fondest memory of her was when there were at least 12 of us spending Thanksgiving weekend at her son Troy and my sister Linda's house in Roan Mountain Tennessee. I got to meet all the Rinker Clan at that time. What a great group of folks. I send my love and condolences to Troy and Linda, Sonia and Dale, and to David and to all her grandchildren and their spouses. Until we all meet again. Janice Jenkins
