As her classmate at JSMA, I have never forgotten Shirley. Although the years have passed, the mention of her name brings back her smile, her laughter, and her omnipresent personality. In high school, Shirley was a top 10 scholar, who worked diligently on both the newspaper and yearbook staffs. Of course, nothing drew people to her more than her wit and humor. I particularly remember her performance in the senior play Bolts and Nuts. Shirley had a extraordinary way of making people smile, if not laugh aloud. Shirley will be missed by all who knew her, even if for a way too short time.

I met Shirley years ago at an Alzheimer's Support Group meeting. We soon became good friends. This group had a surprise retirement party for her and I am so glad I have pictures of that. She was a very special person. I am just sorry I did not get to visit her often. I have been thinking of her a lot this spring.
I extend my sincere and understanding sympathy to all. Life will not be the same without her, but she loved you all, and I loved her.

Shirley and I attended Mosby Academy and worked at Mt Weather together. Shirley was outspoken and had a good sense of humor. She organized the Alzheimer's support group at Warren Memorial Hospital. My deepest sympathy Cindy.
