William Touchton Obituary

William A. Touchton Jr., "Bill", born May 24, 1941, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2025.

Bill loved to sing and lived a rich life filled with music, performing with The University of Florida Master Chorale and the Salvation Army Songsters for many years. When he wasn't singing with a group, he could be found singing everywhere-from a Salvation Army kettle and churches to nursing homes and restaurants while out with family.

He and his wife served as Salvation Army Officers for 25 years, leaving behind a legacy of service to God and their community.

Bill was born in Clearwater, Florida, to William A. Touchton and Alice (Meares) Touchton. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margaret "Peggy" Touchton; his son, Billy Touchton; his sisters, Shirley (Bill) Marshall and Barbarah (Dick) Adams; and his son-in-law, Paul J. Weaver.

He is survived by his daughter, Margaret "Margie" Weaver, and her daughters, Sherry (Josh) Johnson and Autumn (Bryan) Haislop. He is also survived by five great-grandsons: Evan Johnson, Coen Johnson, Brycin Berkowitz, Akhilees Haislop, and Alyas Haislop.

Additional surviving family members include his sister, Gloria (Ken) Coppin, and his brother, Jerry (Carol) Touchton.

Bill has gone home to be with the Lord and now rests in eternal peace. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
