Yolanda Marcella Frye, 52, of Maryland and formerly of Woodstock, passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2018 in Maryland.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, August 30, 2018 at 12 p.m. at Life Church in Stephens City. Pastor Dan Prock will officiate.

Burial will be at a later date.

Yolanda was born June 8, 1966 in Woodstock, Virginia. She is the daughter of Otis and Cassandra Thompson Frye.

She graduated from Central High School in 1984 and later on graduated from Shenandoah University with an Associate's Degree in Business. Yolanda worked for Work Force Resources Inc. as a Human Resource Manager.

She loved music and was a minister of music for various churches.

Along with her parents, Yolanda is survived by four children, David M. Frye and wife Emily, Marlana N. Frye, Steven J. Frye, and Cassie R. Frye; six siblings, Amy J. Hohein, Cheryll Y. Stahlman, Jennifer M. Moore, Vernard D. Frye, Susanna M. Grandison, and Izelle K. Frye; three grandchildren; and her close friend, Judith Johnson.

The family will receive friends August 29, 2018 anytime at her parents' home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to a charity of choice.

Arrangements are in the care of Dellinger Funeral Home in Woodstock.

This sudden loss will forever place a void in my heart and life.

Yolanda was such a phenomenal and gifted singer, songwriter, and musician. Every time she played a crowd gathered and they were forever touched by her voice and her ministry. Even outside of the church walls Yolanda lived her life as a ministry. She talked to everyone. Every stranger became a friend because the talk was genuine, personal and engaging. She knew their life story and the talk always included a message of faith. Her laughter, her crazy southern phrases, her dancing, and her passionate (often loud) interaction always left a footprint with everyone she met.

Yolanda was also a loving daughter who was crazy about her parents. I hold dear the memories of her daily talks with her Mom and Dad. These talks were so much more than a checking-in, but more like a session for sharing love, laughter, the events of the day and biblical lessons. The talks were lively, passionate and full of smiles and laughter. Yolanda loved her family and you could always find her checking in on her sisters, brothers, and others whether for birthdays or to just to let them know she loved them.

Yolanda was a dedicated and loving Mom and NaNa (grandmother). She was engaged and supportive to her four children and three grandbabies. Her children were the drive and passion in everything she did. David, Marlana, Steven, and Cassie . . . through all the challenges, please know (as I can attest) that your mother had unconditional love for each of you. I know from my heart that this will be a tough road, but know that she is with you, watching over you, and will always be there to push you to live your life to the fullest.

Yolanda was a woman of God, she loved the Lord and she demanded that his word be present in her home and life. You would find her often reading the bible, praying for others, or sharing a biblical story to ease someone's heartache.

I am struggling as a take each step without you my friend. I will always remember your smile, laughter, the crazy talks, our wonderful vacations, traveling to Thailand, and the fabulous meals you prepared.

I am forever grateful for your love and friendship. Life will never be the same without you.
