Fran, I am so sorry about the loss of Tommy. As you know, his mother was my dad's sister. I am go glad I got to see y'all at Bernard's house last year because I hadn't seen Tommy in years and had never met you and I thoroughly enjoyed meeting you and your beautiful granddaughters. Tommy and I were born only a few months apart and I remember going to Houston to visit Aunt Mary Sue and Uncle Erie, Tommy and Mary Ann. William was already in the Air Force at that time, but I remember him too.

I am so sorry. He was a good friend and classmate all the way through school in Houston, a very sweet, very intelligent boy. Nancy Tabb Dendy

My father was everything I could have wanted and more as a father and friend. It's so hard to get over this as I cry serveral times a day. My father did so much for us and everyone else. I, of course, wished that I would seen him more this month. I was able to talk to him the day before passed away. I love him so much. I'll see him again as I know he is in Heaven with his mother, father, brother, and friends.

Fran,

I cannot begin to tell you the sorrow I felt upon hearing of Tommy's death. He was one of the greatest friends I had out of the Class of '61. He will be terribly missed. He and I were always e-mailing each other. I always knew he was there if I needed prayer. I will never forgot how he and your church prayed for Garrett .. and the little blanket is such a treasure to all of us. By God's grace Garrett started kindergarten last week. Christye (my daughter) sent me pictures of his first day, and I had intended to forward one of them on to Tommy to show the church how God had answered their prayers. But, when I got home that day, I was notified of his death. It is so hard to believe. He was a wonderful, caring person and I know you will miss him terribly. Of course, we all know that he is in a much better place than we are, but even though that is comforting, I know your heart is breaking. I pray that God will wrap His loving arms around you and give you the peace that only He can give. Please give my love and condolences to the rest of the family.

To Fran and the family:
I first met Tommy within a week of when he moved to Houston, MS in 1949 when we were both in the first grade. He was my friend for almost 60 years. I will really miss him. Although we didn't get to see each other very often after graduation, we saw each other at the Class of 1961 high school reunions. He really kept an outstanding web page for all the '61 classmates to enjoy. Betty and I offer our deepest sympathy for your loss and hope our words can provide some comfort to you.
