Allen Richard Tona
Richard Tona (91) passed on April 20, 2021, in his home in Laurel Hill, FL with his family at his side.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 57 years, Carolyn.
Richard's legacy lives on in his 104 descendants, 6 children, 38 grandchildren, and 60 great-grandchildren.
He was originally from California and began his career with Republic Aviation working as crew chief on the first, test A-10. He moved to Fort Walton Beach in 1960, continuing to work in aviation with Republic. In 1972, he opened Tona Auto Center on Hollywood Blvd. Richard and his family were longtime parishioners of St. Mary Catholic Church, in FWB; then moving to land in Laurel Hill, he attended St. Margaret Catholic Church.
Richard's funeral was held on April 22, 2021 at St. Margaret Catholic Church, celebrated by His Excellency, The Most Rev. Martin D. Holley, Bishop Emeritus of Memphis, The Rev. Msgr. Slade Crawford, Rev. Fr. Rick Dawson, Rev. Fr. John Licari, and Rev. Fr. Ian Bordenave.
