Charlene "Charlie" Peters, 64, passed May 5, 2010, in Lawrenceville, Ga., while traveling with her husband, Colin "Wayne" Peters.
The Viewing will be Monday, May 11, from 6 to 8 p.m. at McLaughlin Twin Cities Funeral Home, Niceville.
A service will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at McLaughlin Twin Cities Funeral Home, Niceville.
Senior pastor Ken Taylor will officiate.
Charlie was born Feb. 16, 1946, in Bluefield, W.Va., to Roy and Mary Leedy.
She graduated from high school, married Wayne, and traveled the country as an Air Force wife. Charlie established homes in Fayetteville, N.C., Bellevue, Neb., Williamsburg, Va., and Duck, N.C., to name a few. They moved to Destin in January 1993 and made Destin their final destination.
Charlie was always on the go and loved to bowl, gamble and ride in the sun on a boat. Her favorite pastime was spoiling her grandchildren and being with her husband and two daughters. Charlie is also survived by six nieces and nephews, Kelly Dianne Bryant, Mary Elizabeth Thomas, Christina Anne Leedy, David Lee Manning, Megan Nicole Leedy and Jonathon Reid Ferris.
If anyone is interested in making donations in lieu of flowers the family recommends the cause that assists with organ transplants. The money will be used to help with transporting the organs and research. Name and address follows: Line Link of Georgia, 2875 North woods Parkway, Norcross, GA, 30071, 1-800-544-6667.

Mom, I have a whole life time of memories. You were my world. You always have my back no matter what it was you always stuck up for me. I was the baby, and of couse, you always said I will always be your baby. I remember recently making you scatch my back when I got home from work. I remember the one on one time we shared talking about family that you were worried about just a couple of weeks ago. You were so full of life, and you constantly made sure that everyone was happy around you. You never worried about your health, and you never complained about feeling sick. You were my rock, my best friend and my mother. I love you more than words can say!! I will carry your strength forever. Please be with me to help me, dad, Michelle, Dale, Britt and Brad get through this difficult time. We still need you mom!!! Love FOREVER, Your Daughter Wendy....To everyone thank you for your thoughts and prayers.
