Charles Thomas Tunstall

1928 - 2012

Charles Thomas Tunstall, 83, of Pensacola, Fla., passed away Sept. 5 at home. Mr. Tunstall was a 30-year veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired as Chief. Service to his country carried him to many different places, and the one held dear was to Korea where he met the love of his life. Mr. Tunstall was the catalyst who was able to assist in bringing Sugi's family to America.

He loved his grandchildren and enjoyed mostly the pitter patter of their feet, their sweet spirits and laughter. He was raised in a special era of time and easily, with such joy, shared his experience with his "Grand Babies" and others who were around. He was a gentle and quiet man who was always gracious to be around.

Mr. Tunstall worked with his wife in Pensacola, Fla., until his last days.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 42 years, Sugi Tunstall; children, Ann and husband, Craig, and Thomas and wife, Ellen; grandchildren, Kassandra and Olyvia Tunstall, Katherine (Mirabella) and Elena Schleidt, and Eva and Roxi Hylton; and his extended family.

Services are entrusted to McLaughlin Mortuary. The family will receive family and friends at 2 p.m., Monday, Sept. 10, 2012 , at the funeral home, 17 Chestnut Ave. S.E. Fort Walton Beach, FL 32548. Funeral service will begin at 3 p.m. Interment with full military honors will be held at 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012, at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, Fla.
