Jeanette McDonald Obituary

Jeanette Anderson McDonald, age 88, a lifelong resident of DeFuniak Springs, Fla., passed away Monday, May 26, 2008, in a Crestview, Fla., hospital.
She was born on Dec. 24, 1919, in DeFuniak Springs, the daughter of the Rev. John R. and Anna M. King Anderson. Mrs. McDonald was a member of First Baptist Church, a graduate of Walton High School, Class of 1937, Perry Business College and Walton County Heritage Association.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest A. McDonald; her parents; four brothers; one sister; and one nephew. Jeanette McDonald is survived by her son, John Neal McDonald and wife Robin of Oveido, Fla.; her daughter, Melinda McDonald Bailey and husband Anthony "Tony" Bailey of DeFuniak Springs; her granddaughters, Brittany, Sarah and Kayla Bailey; her sister-in-law, Colleen McDonald of DeFuniak Springs; a niece; several nephews; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
Floral arrangements are being accepted, or memorials may be made to Jeanette's favorite charity, Florida Baptist Children's Home or to Anderson/Broxson Cemetery Trust Fund at Pleasant Grove in care of Roddy Harrison, or to First Baptist Church.
A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, May 29, at 3 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Jerry Chumley officiating. Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery.
Arrangements and services are under the direction of Jerry Evans.
